Due to the recent government restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, this class has been rescheduled for Friday, 24 July 2020. We missed this class for Easter in April, but we can pretend it is Easter in July!!! Ha!

Easter is fast approaching (have you seen all the Hot Cross buns around) and for an Italian that means baking more sweets to have on hand for those celebratory pre-easter visits from family & friends. In this class, you will bake and take home authentic (Calabrese Southern) Italian dolce. We will enjoy sample these along with an espresso, but only after eating a light Italian lunch.

An Italian Winter Lunch – Sunday, 26 July 2020

Due to the recent government restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, this class has been rescheduled for Sunday, 26 July 2020.

This is an Italian Winter Lunch Workshop! Join me as we create a 3-course authentic Italian lunch menu using winter produce. We have such a bounty to choose from; spinach, silverbeet, cime di rape, clementine, lemons, tangelos, fennel, beetroot, jerusalem artichokes, radicchio and on and on the list goes. We will be absolutely spoilt for choice!

There will be home-style cooking and baking involved, with lots of chatting, laughing and learning along the way. We will then sit outside (alfresco style) together to enjoy the fruits of our labour sampling authentic Italian fare with a glass (or two) of vino.

An Italian Cakes Special Workshop – Sunday, 2 August 2020

Due to the recent government restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, this class has been rescheduled for Sunday, 2 August 2020.

This workshop was originally scheduled for Friday, 8 May and titled ‘A Mother’s Day Special’. It was planned to celebrate being a mum or having a mum with a High Tea workshop where sponge cake & scones plus more would be baked. Well, Mother’s Day is over, but we can still celebrate Mother’s in high tea style! I have changed this class a little – we will still bake scones, however, I will share my love of Italian cakes as well. We will bake a sponge cake, however, it will become a moist panna cotta sponge cake. We will also bake a traditional Calabrese ‘Torta di Mele e Ricotta’ (Apple & Ricotta cake) to showcase glorious winter seasonal apples. It will be a lovely day of baking Italian torte (and scones). There is only one spot left for this class.

An Autumn/Winter Garden & Pranzo (Lunch) – Sunday, 9 August 2020

Due to the recent government restrictions surrounding social distancing for the COVID-19 pandemic, this class has been scheduled for 4 attendees only. This class will only go ahead pending the phase and restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 virus.

This is combined garden and lunch Workshop! I will share with you my very basic knowledge of how to setup a kitchen garden and how to maintain it. We will focus on the autumn/winter garden, and lightly touch on a plan for the spring/summer garden. We will then harvest a few veggies from the kitchen garden to cook  pranzo (lunch) together.

There will be home-style cooking and baking involved, with lots of chatting, laughing and learning along the way. We will then sit outside (alfresco style) together to enjoy the fruits of our labour sampling authentic Italian fare with a glass (or two) of vino.

Tortellini Pasta in Brodo – Friday, 14 August 2020

Join me for a great day: we will start by making a chicken stock for our brodo (broth) and then we will move on to making traditional Tortellini.

You will learn how to make pasta dough and learn the technique of shaping the very popular and traditional Italian pasta: Tortellini. There is nothing more comforting and warming then a lovely bowl of homemade broth filled with handmade Tortellini. This is a perfect class for this cold winter.

Join me for a great day making authentic Gnocchi.

You will learn how to make two authentic gnocchi doughs; the traditional and ever popular potato gnocchi, along with ricotta gnocchi. In addition, we will prepare sughi (sauces) to compliment our gnocchi dishes. We will end the day by sitting alfresco style to enjoy the fruits of our labour (our gnocchi) with a class of vino.
