A Spring/Summer Garden & Pranzo (Lunch) – Sunday, 8 November 2020

This is combined garden and lunch Workshop! I will share with you my very basic knowledge of how to setup a kitchen garden and how to maintain it. We will focus on the spring/summer garden, and lightly touch on a plan for the autumn/winter garden. We will then harvest a few veggies from the kitchen garden to cook pranzo (lunch) together.

There will be home-style cooking and baking involved, with lots of chatting, laughing and learning along the way. We will then sit outside (alfresco style) together to enjoy the fruits of our labour sampling authentic Italian fare with a glass (or two) of vino.

This is an Italian Spring Pranzo (Lunch) Workshop! Join me as we create a 3-course authentic Italian lunch menu using spring produce. We have such a bounty to choose from; peas, artichokes, fava (broad beans), beetroot, parsley, cumquats, blood oranges, green beans, spring onions, leeks and on and on the list goes. Spring is one of my favourite seasons for all the bounty it has to offer.

There will be home-style cooking and baking involved, with lots of chatting, laughing and learning along the way. We will then sit outside (alfresco style) together to enjoy the fruits of our labour sampling authentic Italian fare with a glass (or two) of vino.

Celebrating Carciofi (Artichokes) & Fave (Broad Beans) – Friday, 18 September 2020

Due to the recent government restrictions surrounding social distancing for the COVID-19 pandemic, this class has been scheduled for 4 attendees only. This class will only go ahead pending the phase and restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 virus.

Join me as I share two of my favourite spring vegetables; carciofi (artichokes) & fave (broad beans). If it wasn’t for these two, spring just wouldn’t be the same for me!

There will be Southern Italian (Calabrese) home-style cooking, where I will share a few of my (childhood) favourite ways to enjoy artichokes & broad beans. We will then sit outdoors  (alfresco style) together to enjoy our wondrous pranzo; sampling the joys that is artichokes & broad beans with a glass (or two) of vino.

There will also be lots of chatting, laughing and learning along the way. So come join me! I’d love to share this day with you.

Celebrating Italian Cookbook Authors: Anna del Conte – Friday, 10 September 2021

Angela is very very excited to be commencing, at The Village Cooks, a series cooking and baking classes to celebrate Angela’s favourite (and most influential) Italian cookbook authors! Angela’s cooking and baking has be shaped by many things; her Southern Italian heritage, her professional training as a pastry chef & experience working in commerical kitchens, but by far, her Italian cookbook (which there are many), have given Angela a greater understanding of la cucina povera!

“I am extremely excited to be sharing the cooking and baking from some of my favourite Italian cookbook authors. In each class, we will celebrate one Italian cookbook author that has influenced me! I will choose an entreè, main and dessert from the Italian author’s cookbook/s and recreate these dishes in the class. My first celebrated Italian cookbook author is Anna Del Conte! I love Anna’s authentic Italian provincial cooking & baking style and it has greatly shaped the way I cook!”

This is a (mostly) demonstration & (some) hands-on class.

Join me for a 3 course Anna del Conte lunch. We will cook and bake 3 meals recreated from cookbooks written by Anna del Conte. We will celebrate Italian Cookbook authors through their food at The Village Cooks.
